Thank you Seven Lakes Kiwanis Club for your generous donation to our 2020-2021 Young Authors Writing Project! We are extremely grateful to be included as one of their many child-centered donations for the children of Moore County! The Moore County Celebration had to be canceled for this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but we're already planning for the 2021 Young Author's Project and the Seven Lakes Kiwanis Club is again supporting us in this endeavor.

"Let Your Light Shine"

The theme for the Young Authors’ Project is “Let Your Light Shine.” This theme can be interpreted and expressed in a variety of ways through poetry or prose and can include the following ideas and perspectives:

  • Be yourself and be proud of who you are;
  • Discuss how you share/can share your talent(s) with others;
  • Write about how you have spread joy and kindness;
  • Share how you found the positive during challenging times;
  • Share how you have been a positive influence to someone and inspired others; or,
  • Describe how you can make change happen.
All entries will be due by November 7, 2020 to the MCRA YA Committee & must be submitted through your school. Click on the Young Authors' tab on this page for more information.
